We are now engaged with a foreign supplier of this magnificent material that is coming from Madagascar and is it ever nice material. We are hand picking it for color so as when you have color on one side that the color is also on the other or color completely through the rock. This material from Madagascar is vastly being called for rather than the material from Finland for its color variation and intensity. Colors of the blue, green and gold can sometimes be found with the colors of red and even lavender when slabbing this material.
We all know that this material is somewhat fractured and also has healed fractures as it is from the feldspar family in rock. Meaning that the small crystals were crushed because of the earth's movement that in its lava cradle caused the fractured affect that causes the movement of the color when rotated. Cabs are very colorful when danced in the sunlight and can be used with gold or silver for its mounting. This is exceptionally vivid colored material which when observed the effects are stunning.
Its hard not to imagine this material not giving you the best of its beauty and make for some awesome lapidary jewelry.
