This material comes from the Marston's Ranch just north of Madras, Oregon nestled in the mountains along the steep and high canyon walls. Mr. Marston has been so gracious as to allow us to purchase this material at such a rate for the better grade of material so as we can offer this material to our customers.
This material is a jasper, agate mix replacement of petrified wood that is just amazing to the thought and pleasant to look at. The sharp contrasts of this material makes it a "HIT" with the gem trade as well as the backyard jeweler and rock hound alike. After being at the mine and watching the machinery in action as they are digging out this funny looking log in almost solid rock is truly amazing as to how it was formed. It can be a maze of swirls of certain colors and with the next piece fixed patterns with an agate lace effect to it with even different colors.
The size of some of these pieces are enough to take your breath away as I seen several pieces that will weigh in excess of over 1500 pounds each at the mine. These pieces are available from us at a request as we handle only the smaller sizes that can be for a 24-inch saw on down to a smaller slab saw like an 18 or 16 inch saw as it is not much smaller than that for size.
